Hi Fernando,
Thanks for your inquiry.
What type of racing do you do? Rally, autocross, roadracing or drag?
Depending on what you use the car for, either unit can be advantage or disadvantage for you.
Both torsen and clutch type are the most commonly used design today and they are both good.
For pure hard core professional level racing, the clutch type is the way to go. For daily driver and occasional track car, then torsen migh be better due to minimum maintenance and quiet operation.
Under hard usage and depending on the type of racing, clutch type is generally the choice for many racers. The main advantage of clutch type is that the unit is constantly engaging even when the car is up in the air and when toque is applied..
I don't know if you knew or not but torsen lsd becomes an open diff when one tire looses traction or if it is up in the air. This is the reason why many hardcore rally guys and roadracing guys use our design. Torsen type does not work well for them since both tires have to be touching the pavement in order to function as a lsd (torque biasing device = torsen type).
Another advantage of the clutch type design is that when one of the pinion gear breaks inside, most pieces will stay inside and not harm the transmission. If one of the gear breaks inside a torsen diff, most likely you will loose the whole tranny due to pieces
Cutch type lsd can be overhauled and restored to new condition. Torsen unit when worn have to be replaced with a new one.
The choice is really up to you but please keep in mind that there is some limitation with the torsen performance.

Kaaz does not provide any warranty unfortunately. Unless the breakage was from manufacturing flaw or defect, they will not cover anything. As I mentioned to you in my previous email, we provide one of the best customer care though. You can ask any guys running the NASA or SCCA roadracing series.
Yes Quaife does provide warranty but try claiming one after you break the unit. From what I have heard, you have to go through a lot in order to get a new one out of them. Also Quaife recently cut their long time U.S. distributor and switched over to gigantic auto parts mail order company so their customer service will definitely go down in quality. Many of the current Quaife dealers are having difficulty obtaining the merchandise too.
Anyways, our units have been tested by Ford Motorsports Division when we intoduced them 7~8 years ago. They have approved it for sale on the motorsport catalog but we lost the bid against Quaife and was never able to have our units sold through Ford. This is the reason why you don't hear much about our unit in use within the Focus community. But whoever tried our unit after experiencing Quaife unit normally stayed with our unit so they can get better lap time. Many of the Porsche racers who switched from a torsen type to our clutch type improved lap time. Most guys who switched can go 1~3 seconds faster at the track with our unit.
You can purchase the unit direct from us or from our online store at www.kaazonline.com or from any of our dealers. We do have couple of units in stock. We used to provide full installation work for all the vehicle but we currently do rear drive vehicle installation only. I can always refer you to a reputable shop.
Our kits are made in Japan. Kaaz is one of the top two aftermarket brand in Japan.
Our Focus unit has been approved by the Ford Motorsport Division few years ago after extensive testing. Kaaz LSD is pretty popular now among the Focus guys who rally the car.
PS. Adam, a moze rozejrzysz sie za skrzynia od RSa - ma od razu i Quaife'a i troche lepsze przelozenia do mocniejszej foki...
